The Best Japanese Restaurants in Sydney to Satisfy Your Sushi Cravings
"With eye-catching, award-winning interiors and a diverse and delectable menu, this Sydney Japanese restaurant is a feast for all the senses. If you’re looking for a choice cross-section of the menu, they have two truly delicious set menus for $65 and $95 respectively. The best à la carte dishes would have to be the sticky and sweet eggplant miso yakitori sticks ($5) or the prawns with kombu butter ($28) or, another popular favourite, the pork katsu steam bun ($8) which manages to be light and fluffy as well as crisp and crunchy all at the same time."

25 Best Places to Eat in Sydney in 2021
"Cho Cho San brings modern Japanese cuisine to life at this Sydney favourite. They pride themselves on putting a creative spin on the traditional Japanese izakaya and innovating with mouthwatering dishes such as pork katsu steam buns and king crab omelettes. Even better are the cocktails such as the peach tea sour and yuzu sprits."

The 15 Best Japanese Restaurants in Sydney
"Radically modern, Sokyo is The Star’s brightest culinary gem and home of what is easily one of the hardest reservations to come across in Sydney. Chase Kojima and Takashi Sano’s masterful work behind the counter has ensured Sokyo a five-star legacy in the city’s fiercely competitive hospitality scene, shaped primarily by immaculately handled raw fish and the occasional surprise – most recently, that would be Chase inviting prospective Nobu Sydney chef Sanghyeop Kim to curate his own omakase, of more than 20 dishes. Though it may be hard to look past its corporate setting, a smart sense of intimacy and mood lighting makes Sokyo feel more like a hip New York-style standalone than a casino’s most successful lure."

10 of our favourite Japanese restaurants in Sydney for 2019
"If a restaurant has its own dedicated sea urchin diver (Eli Ravines hand-delivers live spiny boys to Sokyo's sushi chef Takashi Sano daily) you know this is going to be some damn good uni. The unctuous lobes are just one part of what has to be one of the most luxurious (and delicious) pieces of nigiri around, joined by toro (both sliced and in a paste with shio, kombu and truffle) and slices of Manjimup-sourced black gold. You could happily just eat sushi here – each piece is cut with precision, diced with care and incised with passion – but then you'd miss out on the excellent robata and carefully considered mains."

Order the $140 menu here."

The 15 Best Japanese Restaurants in Sydney
"The conceptual dining scene that’s taken over Sydney’s historic Tramsheds could have been easily lost within the city’s obsession with adaptive reuse food precincts. That is, if it wasn’t for two venues. The first is meat-loving Butcher and the Farmer, and the second is this masterstroke, Osaka Trading Co."
