The best gelato and ice cream in Sydney
"This gelato mecca has been around for 17 years and they're always trying something new, whether it's a new flavour, new healthy range or a mash-up you didn't see coming, like the new Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Tea gelato. This limited edition flavour is made up of organic Assam tea, a robust, black tea with notes of malt, which is brewed and infused with the decadent creamy gelato, and finished off with a swirl of rich brown sugar syrup. Each scoop of Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Tea is then topped with extra soft and chewy tapioca pearls for an added layer of texture and to remain true to its dessert inspiration."
"A post shared by the AU review (@theaureview) on Nov 18, 2015 at 9:52pm PST. Beaches and ice cream are an undeniably appealing combination and Gelatissimo at Cronulla treats this winning formula with all due respect by serving up over 30 flavours of freshly made gelato, including truly tempting salted caramel, peanut butter fudge and macadamia nut. Alongside the superb scoops, there are also plenty of incredible eat-in dessert options like their heavenly gelato doughnuts."

"Nev Bagriyanik and his wife Zeyneb opened their ice cream parlour to bring the traditional sweets of their hometown of Maras to the Inner West. Expect unique flavours like the Sour Cherry, Turkish delight, Date, Pistachio and a simple combination of Milk and Sugar. The ice cream itself is particularly sticky and doesn’t melt as quickly as regular ice cream – this is because it’s made with a wild orchid root called salep which gives the ice cream a stretchy texture."
"Nev Bagriyanik and his wife Zeyneb opened their ice cream parlour to bring the traditional sweets of their hometown of Maras to the Inner West. Expect sour cherry, Turkish delight, date, pistachio and the simple combination of milk and sugar to flavour your iced confections. The difference here is that they use salep, a flour made from orchid root that gives Turkish ice cream its super tacky consistency."
"Yet another Enmore Rd institution, Hakiki is famed across the land for their Turkish coffee as well as their gelato (with a thematically consistent Turkish spin). Here you’ll find all the usual gelato staples like apple & cinnamon, hazelnut, and pistachio – with your not-so-usual treats also available, such as baklava, caramelised fig & walnut, and even Turkish coffee. "Located in St. Peters, bordered by Alexandria and Erskineville, Sydney Park is a 40ha large recreational area characterised by open recreation spaces, rolling hills, wetlands and historic chimneys. What you may not know is that Sydney Park used to be a large landfill and an industrial brick making site, and as such the park is actually declared a contaminated site. But don’t let that deter you, because the park is considered safe."
"St Peters Park is one of our favourite places to visit with our bikes as it has an entire mini road pathway with traffic lights, roundabouts and stop signs perfect for little kids. Of course, it is also free. On the other side of the park you will also find an enormous playground with tunnels, climbing walls, bridges, slides and swings."
"Sydney Park offers 40-hectares of greenery a stone’s throw from the city centre. The main drawcard for kids is the adventure playground that will occupy them for hours. There’s also a large sand pit."
"About 3km south of central Manly, spectacular North Head offers dramatic cliffs, lookouts, secluded beaches, pretty paths through the native scrub and sweeping views of the ocean, the harbour and the city. It's great to explore by bike or on foot. Grab a map and plot your own path through the headland, which takes in former military barracks, WWII gun emplacements, a quarantine cemetery and a memorial walk commemorating Australia's military. At the tip, Fairfax Lookouts offer dramatic clifftop perspectives."

"Candlelit tables, rich wood panelling and endless French elegance, are a few things you’ll find at the oh so charming Restaurant Hubert. Renowned Chef Dan Papperell gives classic French dishes a facelift that is sure to have you raving in no time. From the escargot served with the house XO sauce to the duck parfait with maple jelly, modern French fare is taken next level at Restaurant Hubert."
"Whether midday or midnight, a frisson of celebration is ever-present in the parallel universe of Hubert. Descend the winding staircase and come hither into a faux Belle Époque salon of perpetual candlelight and popping Champagne corks. Lovers canoodle in the tête-à-tête booths; a band limbers up for jazz and chansons; a magnum of Louis Roederer arrives at an already lively table of revellers."
"Considered one of Sydney's most romantic restaurants, Hubert provides the ultimate in date night settings; think mood-lit lamps with velvet and fringe drapery. The old-world feel and sheer opulence of the interiors will set hearts aflutter. Classic bistro-style dishes go down a treat with their selection of French wines and classic cocktails."
"The Imperial Hotel sure knows how to turn an evening meal into an experience. Book in for their hilarious Drag N' Dine nights where you'll be treated to fabulous food from Priscillas and top-notch entertainment from their resident queens."
