"On the minimalist menu by Kyoto-trained chef-owner Kenji Ito, you'll find traditional Japanese dishes such as crisp, delicate tempura mixed with the likes of hoji tea-smoked duck breast with duck neck chorizo and pickled quandong on the sushi platters. Yes, there's technical knife work and fussy plating but all of that technique feels incidental when the black ceramic lid is lifted from a shared pot of tender charred octopus tentacles, big clusters of enoki mushrooms, burdock and umami-rich rice. Pungent fish floss for seasoning and pickled daikon are served on the side."
"Can't decide?" ($22) swoops in for the rescue: house-made granola, toast and OJ, plus a couple of the brunch tapas that are a highlight here. You might luck onto Korean-fried short rib, braised wild mushrooms or crispy spuds with preserved lemon mayo. The experience: Walking in feels arriving at a friend's place."

"The geometric, zinc-clad home of Melbourne art collectors Charles and Leah Justin doubles as the Justin Art House Museum. Book ahead for a private tour of the couple's dynamic collection of contemporary art, consisting of more than 250 pieces amassed over four decades. There's a strong emphasis on video and digital art, with the works rotated regularly. Guided tours take around two hours. The house was designed by the couple's daughter, Elisa."
"Buxton Contemporary is the result of a landmark gift from renowned art collector Michael Buxton, who in 2014 donated 350 major Australian artworks to form a new gallery. Adjoining the Victorian College of the Arts, the gallery comprises four exhibition galleries plus a huge outdoor screen devoted to moving image art. The gallery’s acquisitions tend to follow a smaller number of artists in depth and over time, building a rich insight into their changing practice."
