Cool Restaurants & Cafés In Byron Bay [2021 Edition]
"One of Byron Bay’s top culinary creators, head chef William Ennis, delivers world class cuisine with an imaginative contemporary Italian restaurant menu, earning the Italian at the Pacific a reputation as one of the best Italian restaurants in Byron Bay. Ennis counts two European Michelin starred restaurants on his CV – Martin Wishart in Edinburgh and Patrick Gauilbaud’s in Dublin. He was also part of the team that won three prestigious Chef Hats during his time at Sydney’s renowned Bilson’s Restaurant."
"I’m going to dive straight on in there and give you probably the biggest gem out of all of the places I’ve been to in Byron – Moui’s Feast. This unassuming Asian inspired restaurant is the number 1 locals favourite in town and probably one of the cheapest we went to. Even though the picture doesn’t look the most inspiring, the food was awesome."
"Slice Pizzeria is located on Jonson Street and is a convenient place to grab a bite to eat. If you’re looking for a good place to grab a piece of pizza, as the name says, then stop by here while you’re out sightseeing. This is a perfect quick lunch spot if you’re wanting takeaway and to head back to the beach."

"Located across the road from Main Beach, the Beach Hotel is truly iconic. For more than 25 years, this casual pub has welcomed locals and visitors to enjoy a drink or two in the beer garden, a fantastic meal, and live entertainment. Their menu offers all the pub classics, including fresh fish and chips."
"Australia's most easterly hotel, located opposite Main Beach right in Byron Bay offering a range of rooms, some with ocean views. Connected to the world famous Beach Hotel with live music 3 nights per week and Sunday afternoons."
"This live-music stalwart is as grungy and boozy as it ever was, and has played host to everyone from Billy Bragg and Dizzee Rascal to Dinosaur Jr and PJ Harvey. The front bar is a prime spot for people-watching..."
"Delight in a chilly beer after a day in the sun at Woody’s Surf Shack, and also join the throng of partygoers as the night grows to revel in the music, dancefloor, and euphoric atmosphere of this retro-style bar. Classic surfboards hang from the ceiling, and also graffiti as well as local art work stretch along walls. Comfy cubicles, an exterior patio, and several pool tables give a perfect recess from the dance area."
"A Byron Bay staple, Woody’s Surf Shack is an essential stop on any bar crawl. The decor is inspired by a group of surfers who made the Bay their home in the ’60s and ’70s, and features surfboards, vintage photos and graffiti. Relax in retro booths or on the outdoor patio, shoot some pool, make some moves on the dance floor and enjoy anything from tinnies to bubbles or cocktails."
"Traditionally the last stop of the night, this dark bar now has a lockout time of 2am, so if you fancy shooting pool till the wee hours you'll need to get in before then. It runs a free pick-up Kombi from..."
"Just off the beach and main street in Byron – 4/4 Bay Ln, Byron Bay. I’m not one to usually go for pizza but we decided to try out the authentic Italian restaurant, Il Buco one night as it’s in a great location (just off Main Street) and it was Number 1 on Trip Advisor at the time for Byron’s best restaurants as well as the Number 1 best pizza in Australia!. This small, unassuming restaurant was awesome."
"That’s what you can expect from Il Buco Cafe & Pizzeria’s Italian artisan pizza. Committed to using local, seasonal ingredients, the incredible pizzas feature fresh produce picked, grown, and raised in the region: ham from Bangalow Sweet Pork, salumi from the boys at Salumi, tomatoes from Coopers Shoot Tomatoes, and more."
"While you won’t get a big meal here, you might stop by more than once during your holiday in Byron Bay. Beaches and Cream features the popular Italian dessert, gelato. (You can also grab donuts, coffee or other breakfast-related items besides gelato, so perhaps there is another reason to come here.) Open 10 am to 11 pm everyday, Beaches and Cream makes its own gelato daily, and there are a good number of flavours to tempt you to make it treat more than once."
"Serving regional European inspired dishes, using the abundance of quality produce found locally, in a casual & comfortable setting, for friends & families to enjoy good food & wine together."

"Just down the road from Byron at Byron, the Roadhouse is always buzzing. Recently under new management, the team at the Roadhouse serve delicious Allpress Coffee and pastries, brekkie rolls, hearty porridge and other breakfast goodies in the morning. In winter it is really nice to grab a table inside by the fire, but on warmer days there are plenty of big tables outside in the sun under the tress."
